About the event

Join us for an empowering day of learning and fun at our "Knowledge in Motion" Parkinson's Forum where we bring together renowned experts and passionate individuals in the fight against Parkinson's disease.  Our keynote speaker will be Dr Ramon Rodriquez from Neurology One!  Dr Rodriquez's talk entitled "Stepping into the Spotlight:  Addressing the Challenges of Parkinson's Disease" will delve into crucial concepts essential for understanding this complex condition.  His discussion will focus on the patient's response to medications, the  management of challenging symptoms, and a critical but often overlooked  aspect - the unseen effects of Parkinson's. His comprehensive approach will provide a holistic view of the disease, aiming to enhance our  understanding of management strategies.

Other highlights of the event includes our talk on Driving with Parkinson's with Mary Jeghers, PhD, OTR/Driver Rehab Specialist from UF Health's SmartDriver Rehab Program, and our rehabilitation round table discussion, where Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy experts from STARS Rehab and Evolving Homes will answer your questions about voice, swallow function, exercise and home modifications to improve long term independence and quality of life.

In addition to the informative sessions, you'll have the chance to visit our expo informational tables to expand your knowledge on Parkinson's medications, tremor devices, deep brain stimulation and other local medical services and resources.

As we nourish the mind, we'll also nourish the body with a delightful light breakfast and lunch, providing ample opportunities for networking and forging meaningful connections with fellow attendees.

To cap off the day on a fun-filled note, we invite you to join in our lively and laughter-inducing "Pie-in-the-Face" fundraiser. Embrace the spirit of camaraderie as we share smiles and raise funds for the REBLOOM Center – supporting ongoing free exercise and voice training for people with Parkinson's.

Don't miss this incredible opportunity to gain knowledge, connect with experts, and meet new friends. This event is free but space is limited.  Mark your calendar and register today!
