Join us for an informative session with Dr Phillip Tipton, MDS from the Mayo Clinic, where we will delve into the world of Carbidopa-Levodopa - a key medication in managing PD symptoms. This session will explore dosing tips (Can it be crushed? Should I take it with food or on an empty stomach? Does carbinated water help it kick in faster?), expected outcomes (motor vs. non-motor symptoms), side effects and common myths leading to levodopa phobia (Is it toxic? Can I take too much? Should I save a higher dose for later?) and the use of alternative medications/supplements. Dr Tipton, M.D. neurologist and Movement Disoder Specialist at Mayo Clinic with a special interest in Parkinson's disease. He is an active clinician, clinical researcher, advocate and dynamic educator. He received his medical degree from East Tennessee State Univeristy James H. Quillen College of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Movement Disorders at Mayo Clinic and recently completed his Clinician Investigator Fellowship at Mayo Clinic.
