About the event
SAVE THE DATE - Saturday Septempter 7th. Join us for an empowering day of learning and fun at our "Knowledge in Motion" Parkinson's Forum where we bring together renowned experts and passionate individuals in the fight against Parkinson's disease. Our keynote speaker Dr Matthew Remz, MD, is a Movement Disorder Specialist and Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Movement Disorders at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases in Gainesville, Fl. His down to earth talk is titled: "Parkinson's Myths and Facts - How to Take Control of Your Health".
Other highlights of the event will be the presentation of the new Parkinson's Foundation Hospital Safety Guide so that you can be prepared for a planned or unplanned visit to the hospital (it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when) and we will also hear from expert Occupational and Speech therapists who will discuss how to age well in your own home and how to preserve your swallow function.
In addition to the informative sessions, you'll have the chance to visit our expo informational tables to expand your knowledge on Parkinson's medications, deep brain stimulation, learn about brain anatomy (care of the University of St Augustine anatomy lab) and other local medical services and resources.
As we nourish the mind, we'll also nourish the body with a delightful light breakfast and lunch, providing ample opportunities for networking and forging meaningful connections with fellow attendees.
Don't miss this incredible opportunity to gain knowledge, connect with experts, and meet new friends. This event is free but space is limited. Mark your calendar and register today!
