Learn about the new continuous levodopa pump called Vyalev

On January 23rd at 330pm the pharmacutical company Abbvie will bring the wonderful Dr Ramon Rodriguez, MD, to ReBloom to discuss the new FDA and medicare approved VYALEV medicine for people living with Parkinson's disease who have "Off" time. This new liquid formulation of levodopa (usually taken orally as your little yellow pills) is delivered continuously via a pump, much like a person with diabetes uses a pump to deliver insulin. The smallish wearable pump pictured here delivers liquid levodopa therapy under the skin all day and all night! Research has revealved improved "on" time compared to pills, it does NOT require surgery and it replaces levodopa pills. Dr Rodriquez, an esteemed neurologist from from Neurology One, will join us to educate our group about who can benefit, when, potential side effects and benefits.
